After the cinemas were closed or burned down, the characters abandon the screen; the people take to the streets and try to direct themselves. And cinema becomes the spectator. Using only period footage, the filmmakers meditate upon the role of cinema, television, and film in society.

biography
Born in 1978, Mohammadreza Farzad received a MA in Theatre from Tehran University of Fine Arts. He started his career as a poet and literary translator and then began acting. His first film Into Thin Air premiered at the Berlinale in 2011 and his second film Blames & Flames received two prizes at the Berlinale in 2012. He is currently a PHD student in the Film Factory run by Bela Tarr.
