Le soldat israélien Cham part en patrouille avec un adjudant ; l'adjudant est tué, Cham capturé par des combatants palestiniens ; mais eux mêmes sont attaqués par des soldats Israéliens. Avant de s'enfuir, ils confient leur prisonnier à une famille du village proche, composée d'une mère aveugle, Asmahane, et d'une fille anorexique, Falastin. Cham est rebaptisé Nessim, du nom du fils de la famille, disparu, à qui il ressemble.

Après être resté caché quelque temps avec deux jeunes Palestiniens dans le village, Cham/Nessim part avec Falastin à Hebron ; elle va chez sa tante, lui est caché par un vieux photographe, Manastir.

Israeli pianist and conductor Daniel Barenboim, who was the focus of the closing film shown at our 3rd edition, entitled Knowledge is the Beginning, accepted honorary Palestinian citizenship while in Ramallah in January 2008 for a performance of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra (composed of both Israeli and Palestinian musicians). We salute his courage and his dedication to peace between the two peoples.
